Getting Started with Frictionless

Welcome to Frictionless! This guide will walk you through setting up your account and getting your first invoice out the door in under 10 minutes.

🚀 Prerequisites

Before you begin, make sure you have:

  • A modern web browser (Chrome, Firefox, Safari, or Edge)
  • A valid email address for your account
  • Basic business information (name, address, tax details)
  • Payment processor accounts (optional - PayPal and/or Stripe)

📋 Step 1: Sign In to Your Account

1.1 Sign In

  1. Visit frictionless.zhyporium.com
  2. Click the "Sign In" button
  3. Choose to login with your Google or Discord account
  4. Grant necessary permissions when prompted

1.2 Account Setup

  • After successful authentication, you'll be redirected to the onboarding flow
  • No email verification required - your Google or Discord account is already verified
  • No credit card required to get started

🏢 Step 2: Create Your Organization

Organization Details

  1. Organization Name - Enter your business name as it should appear on invoices
  2. Organization Slug - A unique identifier for your organization (auto-generated from name)
  3. Currency - Select your primary currency for invoicing

💳 Step 3: Configure Payment Methods

3.1 PayPal Setup (Optional)

  1. Go to Organization Settings > Advanced Settings
  2. Enter your PayPal business email
  3. Follow the instructions for IPN setup
  4. Save your settings

3.2 Stripe Setup (Optional)

  1. Create a Stripe account and get your API keys
  2. Go to Organization Settings > Advanced Settings
  3. Enter your Stripe publishable and secret keys
  4. Configure webhook settings
  5. Save your settings

3.3 Wise Setup (Optional)

  1. Create a Wise account and get your API keys
  2. Go to Organization Settings > Advanced Settings
  3. Enter your Wise Tag
  4. Save your settings

👥 Step 4: Add Your First Client

4.1 Client Information

  1. Name - Client's full name or company name
  2. Email - Primary contact email address
  3. Title - Job title or position (optional)
  4. Company - Company name if different from contact name
  5. Phone - Contact phone number

4.2 Billing Information

  1. Billing Name - Name for billing purposes (auto-filled from client name)
  2. Billing Email - Email for invoice delivery (auto-filled from client email)
  3. Billing Address - Complete billing address
  4. Billing Phone - Phone number for billing inquiries
  5. Tax ID - Client's tax identification number (if applicable)

📄 Step 5: Create Your First Invoice

5.1 Invoice Details

  1. Client - Select the client from your client list
  2. Invoice Number - Auto-generated sequential number
  3. Title - Descriptive title for the invoice
  4. Memo - Additional notes or description (optional)

5.2 Line Items

  1. Item Name - Description of the product or service
  2. Description - Detailed description (optional)
  3. Quantity - Number of units (defaults to 1)
  4. Unit Price - Price per unit in cents/smallest currency unit

5.3 Taxes and Discounts

  1. Tax Rate - Add applicable tax rates
  2. Discount Type - Percentage or fixed amount discount
  3. Discount Value - Discount amount or percentage
  4. Shipping - Additional shipping costs (if applicable)

✅ Step 6: Review and Send

6.1 Preview Invoice

  • Review the complete invoice layout
  • Check all calculations and totals
  • Verify client information and branding

6.2 Send Invoice

  1. Finalize Invoice - Finalize to mark as issued and send to client
  2. Download PDF - Download for manual delivery or copy link to share with client
